Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

The staff at The lakes are tested with a PCR lab test once weekly and then a Lateral Flow test twice weekly. If staff become Symptomatic within this week they are asked to stay at home and complete an PCR lab test, they then do not return to work until they have had a negative test result.

Residents are tested on a 28 day basis, any symptomatic residents are swabbed and then isolated until the test result has come back Negative.

New admissions are swabbed 48 hours prior to discharge and then isolated for 14 days with full barrier nursing. All residents admitted to the Lakes are required to remain to their own room for 14 days however staff still provide the same person centered care and ensure that the individual is not at risk of social isolation.

As of the 08.03.2021 the residents can have one consistent visitor who will spend that time with the individual in their bedroom. The visitor will be required to arrive 30 minutes before the time they would like to visited to complete an Lateral flow test and await the result. Providing the test in negative then can then continue with their visit.

The Lakes have a safe Visiting area which has screens floor to ceiling. These visits can be booked in with the manager to ensure there is not an overlap of time.

Deputy Manager

I joined The Lakes as a team leader in March 2018 after being a live in carer for 6 years. It was a huge change but my passion for care increased as i had more residents to love. The residents and their families become my family. I then accepted the Deputy Manager position in 2020 which has been a challenge and exciting. I believe that every resident deserves to feel they are at home and have the best quality of life.

This is what we at the Lakes together with our team strive towards.
