Meet The Manager

Samantha Hughes is Acting Home Manager at The Boynes Care Centre.

I am honoured to be Acting Manager after having been the Deputy Manager of The Boynes. As a Registered Nurse since 2009, I have been a dedicated member of The Boynes team since 2018, committed to a combination of clinical and managerial roles. The best part of my role is being a part of a great team and family and making a real difference to the lives of the people we care for.
At The Boynes we have a “home from home” atmosphere with dedicated, friendly and caring staff. Through an engaging and collaborative approach with our residents and their families, we aim to give outstanding levels of care so our residents can live meaningful lives.

Outside of work I enjoy reading, nature, going for walks with my family and our dog, keeping fit, swimming, arts and crafts and flower arranging.

safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

I have been in care for 4 years now and I have enjoyed every single day so far. I don’t see care as just a job, to me it is a career and I love learning new things. Doing as much training as I can, I started off in domiciliary care which I thoroughly enjoyed. Having the 1-1 time with my clients and seeing them so happy about everything I did, I then moved onto being a senior Carer at the Boynes. What I love the most about being a carer is how rewarding it is, residents are so grateful for everything you do. Doing something that is small to you can be huge to them. I am deeply passionate about my work and I will always do my very best for the residents, going above and beyond to improve their quality of life to the best of my ability.

Outside of work I love to spend time with my horses, going out hiking in the countryside, relaxing and spending time outdoors in the fresh air.

I have been in care for 10 years and I love my job because it enables me to give the best quality of life to our residents as possible. I love making people smile and making people feel safe. I love singing to our residents the most as it really brightens everyone’s day, the residents thoroughly enjoy it and look forward to it every week. The residents remember the songs I sing and request them which amazes me!

I enjoy keeping fit and go to the gym regularly. I also have a 5 year old son, who really enjoys coming in to see the residents at The Boynes. I love The Boynes, it is like a family. We are so lucky to be in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside and have beauty right on our doorstep!
