Our Building and Facilities

This delightful home features two relaxing lounges, one of which contains a kitchenette, allowing residents to access tea and coffee at their leisure. The large, bright, communal dining hall is perfect for hosting families and evenings of entertainment.

Individual rooms are thoughtfully furnished with plenty of space for residents to personalise their room to their tastes and preferences, bringing a little slice of their former home to their new residence.

Watersmead’s residents benefit from a generous amount of outdoor space, with a large lawn area, patios, a large tranquil pond, a courtyard with raised planters for the greener fingered residents to utilise and a sensory garden tucked away in a quiet corner.

Activities

Residents can enjoy social activities within the home every day. An accessible minibus is often used for trips to local places of interest, supported by the team.

The dedicated Activities Co-ordinators are here to make life as enjoyable and varied as possible and they work in partnership with residents to shape the schedules of activities. Here is a sample of activities they might organise:

  • Visit from Pets as Therapy Dogs
  • Exercise and wellness activities, for example Seated Yoga, Zumba
  • Fun activities with ‘Messy Miniatures’, the local toddler group

With so many activities for body and mind on offer, residents will always find something to get involved with. One-to-one sessions are also planned to ensure that every resident has time committed to them to do activities of their choosing and no resident misses out on quality time.

Events and clubs, which welcome people from the local area take place regularly, enabling residents to meet new people and remain part of the local community.

As we are in the heart of a market town - within a vibrant community, there's never a dull moment. We run regular activities for all to join in:

- Knit and Natter – 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, 10:30am – 12:00pm

- Reminiscence Club – 1st Friday of each month, 10:30am – 11:30am
