Meet The Manager

Katie Cliff is Home manager at Mayfield View Care Home.

“I feel very fortunate to work at Mayfield View and to work with such an amazing team. The care that is delivered everyday is exceptional, and I am truly proud for their continual determination and passion.”

Katie Cliff

Set just a stone’s throw away from the busy main street of Ilkley, Mayfield View is in the centre of a thriving local community. This supports independent living for residents, the Springfield philosophy of care through community and is shown by the amenities in the home itself. Within the home, there is a bistro coffee shop which is open to the public, many generous shared day spaces for all communities and a series of dining areas as well as beautiful gardens. Our spectacular, beautifully designed and maintained gardens provide residents with the opportunity to experience an extraordinary quality of life whether they are living with dementia, complex medical conditions or simply need help and support with day to day living.

Our remarkable building was designed with large day spaces and smaller communities to guarantee the delivery of high quality person centred care and with up to three times the required minimum space per resident for a UK Care Home, Mayfield View ensures personal space within the home. Our bedrooms are also much larger than you would expect; all with en suite facilities and beautifully furnished, although we do encourage all our residents to bring things of their own as, after all, it is their home.

Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

Our visiting regulations may change at the request of the home manager, upon advice from the government/Public Health England or alternatively in the best interests of residents for their safety and wellbeing.

We have several options for visiting your loved ones, with room/window visits, garden visits and visiting rooms.

Please note that throughout the pandemic, we have always facilitated compassionate and essential visits to maintain the comfort and wishes of residents.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Wireless Internet access (WiFi)

Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms.

Telephone for external calling

Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms.

Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.

With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.

Activities Are So Important

Our dedicated wellbeing and activities team make every possible effort to ensure that there is always something to keep our residents active and engaged.  From crafts and quizzes, classic painting, shopping trips and gardening to visits from local schoolchildren and not forgetting weekly visits from the local clergy.  When planning activities and encouraging meaningful engagement our team will consider all aspects of an individual resident.  Nationality, religion or culture are likely to have a major influence on preferences for music, food, clothes and everyday routines, to name a few things.   We call this person-centred care .. it’s all about the individual.

Mayfield View also has a small café open to the public, a cinema room, a spa, a gym and even a private pub to keep residents busy and to ensure that there is always something to do.  We regularly request feedback from our residents to ensure that we are accommodating and adaptive to individual wishes.

The Teapot Tearooms is hosted by a friendly and welcoming team, and many residents pop in daily for a hot drink, a delicious, home-baked slice of cake and a catch up with fellow residents or their visitors.  It’s also popular with the local community, offering a superb bookable afternoon tea experience!
