Meet The Manager

Leanne Braham is Home Manager at Low Furlong.

Welcome to Low Furlong, our lovely purpose-built home, situated just on the outskirts of the Cotswolds. We provide person-centred care in our beautiful, busy and bustling home. I am Leanne, and I have worked at Low Furlong since it re-opened in 2017. I have worked in care for over 20 years and truly believe that residents are at the heart of all we do. Everyone that walks through the door at Low Furlong comments on the lovely atmosphere. Low Furlong has strong links and relationships with the local community and strives to create a family feel whilst providing high quality care and a huge range of activities for residents.

Leanne Braham

Nestled on the outskirts of the rural town of Shipston-On-Stour, Low Furlong is a brand new, purpose built 68 bed residential home providing excellent standards of care for the elderly, including those living with dementia. An easy, 10 minute walk from the centre of this beautiful market town, Low Furlong is ideally situated with easy access to the countryside, as well the convenience of nearby shops. With historic Stratford a mere 15 minutes away by car this well-appointed and welcoming care home enjoys the benefits of a central location but with the calm, quiet charm of semi-rural position.

Low Furlong delivers high levels of considerate, expert support for a wide range of elderly care needs, including considerate provision for those living with dementia. We stress a holistic approach in which the 'whole person' needs of the individual - the spiritual as well as physical - are met with respect and dignity.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

As part of a modern development Low Furlong has been planned with the needs of residents very much in mind.

As you'd expect Low Furlong is entirely access friendly throughout with wide, spacious corridors contributing to the bright and airy feel, whilst still ensuring that residents of all levels of mobility can enjoy the freedom to move around in maximum comfort and safety.

Low Furlong has been thoughtfully decorated throughout with the inclusion of dementia friendly colour schemes, as well as both quiet and 'retro' lounges - the latter featuring decoration and furniture from yesteryear, in addition to hand-picked antiques which residents are encouraged to interact with. The innovative idea having dedicated street names and individual room numbers allows residents to maintain a personal postage address - enabling individuals to retain their identity and independence whilst still enjoying the benefits of professional care and support.

Externally Low Furlong is surrounded by attractive raised meadow banks, planted with a range of attractive flowers, whilst a central patio area allows residents to enjoy the best of the sunshine.

You can enjoy tea, coffee and lovely range of homemade cakes & biscuits in our charming on-site tea room. Deliberately non-matching crockery provides all the nostalgia of a homely tea room of days gone by. In addition, Low Furlong's own little shop sells a welcome range of items, including bygone sweets and pop, gift sets, toiletries and a lovely selection of greetings cards. Residents can even collect their daily newspaper from the shop to maintain their established habit of 'popping out to get the paper'.
