Shelly Ford is Service Manager at Ledbury Nursing Home.
Nestled in the historic, beautiful and friendly town of Ledbury in Herefordshire, you will find Ledbury Nursing Home. A general nursing home, offering a calm and caring home from home environment, for just 36 people, the small friendly home is arranged over just two floors.
All bedrooms are single with en-suite wet rooms but for those people who enjoy a bath there are assisted bathrooms on each floor. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated, each has a large picture window, looking out to the town, some have views of the nearby Malvern Hills.
Life in Ledbury Nursing home is calm and loving, we encourage residents to socialise in one of the two dining rooms for meals as often as possible.
Music and activities play a large part of each day, encouraging socialisation and fun times for the residents living with us. Our mature, secure garden offers a safe place to enjoy the outdoor sunshine and wildlife.
Being part of the community is a key benefit of life in Ledbury Nursing Home. We encourage trips out locally for picnics and shopping or even just a drive around the rural countryside in our very own bus which also accommodates wheelchairs!
We offer respite and long-term placements for people with general nursing or residential needs. Our core values are Wellness, Happiness and Kindness and our talented team help residents feel at home and cared for offering support, 24 hours a day.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |
---|
Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. ![]() Shelly FordService Manager![]() Michelle HillDeputy ManagerI’m Michelle & have been Deputy Manager at Ledbury Nursing Home for 18 months now. I work 35 hours per week & work a mixture of clinical nurse shifts & management days, I really like the variety of the 2 & find all aspects of my role really interesting & like that 2 days are never the same. I started working at Ledbury as an agency nurse 2 years ago & really enjoyed my shifts here so asked for a permanent position & started as a team leader part time in November 2018 before taking the deputy post 3 months later. I have been a registered nurse for 13 years where I worked in general surgery after qualifying before becoming a district nurse for 10 years prior to starting at Ledbury. I am a mum to 1 son & live locally. I enjoy relaxing in my spare time by walking the Malvern Hills & as a member at Malvern spa. ![]() Teixeria PalmaNurse (Team Leader)I have been a nurse since 2013 and came to Ledbury in 2018. I am a RGN but by role is so much more than being a nurse to the residents. I ensure that all of the resident’s daily needs are met, plan their care in conjunction with them, various professionals and if needs be, the family involved. ![]() Lisa CarneCookLisa Carne has worked for Ledbury for the last 17 years. She is committed to meeting all the needs of our residents and produces a wonderfully tempting array of food which everyone enjoys. The team uses as much fresh produce as possible and Lisa changes the menu to reflect the seasons and always provides different choices on any given day. Lisa also works closely with the nursing staff to make sure that any prescribed diets, including all texture modified diets are maintained and that the residents enjoy them, making sure that whatever the preference and taste of a resident, everyone has thoughtfully prepared and beautifully cooked food. She is passionate about the food she produces and knows how important the meals are to each resident. She is keen for feedback from staff and residents and will work hard to make sure our residents feel listened to and will incorporate their wishes in her daily routine and residents really look forward to their meals. ![]() Anita KinnearActivities ChampionAnita has worked at Ledbury Nursing Home for almost seven years. ![]() Paula CresswellAdministratorI have worked within Shaw for 10 years. I originally came to Ledbury as a Support worker on the nursing home and did that for 2 years. I was offered the chance to step into a more managerial role and for 2 years became the Domestic Supervisor. I returned to support work for a short while and then I became the home administrator, a role I still do today and have done for the past 5 years. As well as working within the nursing home I provide support for Market lodge, which is our acquired brain injury unit. I work very closely with staff and residents in a variety of ways. I support residents to manage finances and purchases and deal with any queries they might have and run their errands. I enjoy the opportunity to get to know our residents and their families and love chatting with them as I go about my duties. |
