Meet The Manager

Clare Sinclair is Care Home Manager at Kingfisher Lodge.

Before joining Barchester, I worked in the NHS for 30 years as a qualified Mental Health Nurse. More recently, I moved into the private sector as a Nursing Home Manager.

My career has mainly been in adult nursing, working with the elderly who have complex mental health needs. In 2015, I moved into the private sector , where I managed a successful nursing home for 44 residents, providing specialist care services for older people in need of support due to physical illnesses or for those living with dementia, in addition to end of life care.

I am proud to have had such a rewarding career. Professionally, I am proud of my continued achievements and determination to always strive for excellence, which is proven in my previous home's 'Outstanding' CQC report.

Kingfisher Lodge is ideally situated in the picturesque village of Saltford just outside of the historic city of Bath and close to Bristol. The home boasts beautiful views across the Avon Valley and it is a short walk to the Saltford Marina.

We provide 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for those with Dementia in our Memory Lane Community. We also provide care for younger people with a physical disability and respite care. Our team of qualified and dedicated staff ensure that all residents receive professional, respectful and personalised care.

A sense of belonging is crucial to a persons well-being, so regardless of the complexity of their needs we strive to ensure residents value being part of the Kingfisher Lodge community and we value them. Kingfisher Lodge has been designed with this in mind, which is why you will get the feel of home-from-home when you walk around.

At Kingfisher Lodge we believe freedom of choice is paramount to everyone that stays with us. Victoria Hunt
Victoria Hunt
Activities Coordinator

I’m Vicky and I have been working here at Kingfisher Lodge since April 2016. I began my career at Barchester working in the kitchen, but I soon realised that I wanted to spend more time with residents.

I’ve been a florist for over 10 years and enjoy showing residents my creative side.

I organise events, guest entertainers, all of our daily activities and one-to-one sessions for those who prefer not to join in with group activities.

I really enjoy this role and love coming to work.

The Importance Of Meal Times

At the heart of our meals are fresh, seasonal ingredients that are bursting with flavour. Our food is cooked to the highest standard and we take great care to cater to the dietary requirements of everyone living here at the home. Residents may even discover a new favourite food or enjoy an old favourite prepared in a new and exciting way. We actively encourage loved ones to attend our mealtimes so that they can get a taste of what we offer.

Activities Are So Important

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
