Meet The Manager

Kath Brown is Residential Care Home Manager at Abbeyfield Residential Care Home - The Grove.

For us, the key thing is to recognise that everybody’s needs and interests differ, which is why we have tailored our home to respect and respond to your privacy and individual requirements to ensure that The Grove is very much your home.
I look forward to speaking to you soon.

The Grove is a splendid mixture of old and new. Originally a private residence, it retains the charm and warmth of a family home yet has been extended and refurbished to meet the needs of our elderly residents. Our 32 spacious bed sitting rooms are fully fitted, all with en-suite facilities, designed to offer comfort and security to provide a real home from home and are all fully wheelchair accessible.
Abbeyfield Newcastle care homes are a place where you can enjoy your later years, enjoy making new friendships and receive exceptional levels of care. Our ethos is built on the belief that happiness can be found through community, and that loneliness need not be an inevitable feature of old age. Whilst making the decision to leave your own home can be a difficult one, we firmly believe that accessing the right level of care at the right time in life can be a positive step; a choice that not only sustains quality of life but improves it. Abbeyfield Newcastle residential care offers the best of both worlds; we are a small, not-for-profit organisation which allows us to provide a personal service to meet the individual needs of all our residents. We are affiliated to the Abbeyfield Society, an international not for profit organisation, giving us the added security and benefits from being part of a large, stable organisation. Most importantly, as a registered social landlord we deliver value for money services and reinvest our profits back in to our homes to the benefit of our residents.

The Importance Of Meal Times

Meal times form an important part of the day here at The Grove, which is why our chefs are committed to creating menus that are both delicious and nutritious to ensure you enjoy the food you are eating and are benefitting from a varied and balance diet.

Meal times are a time when we all come together and are generally a lovely, sociable time of day.

Activities Are So Important

We offer a wide range of popular activities which you can choose to participate in if you wish; by far our most popular activity is the weekly chairobics session which is organised by a fitness expert specialising in elderly exercise but often our residents host their own sessions with our support such as our popular music appreciation group.
