Autumna’s OpenScore wins two national tech awards
OpenScore, the real-time quality data platform developed by Autumna, has picked up two national awards in just two weeks. Firstly, it won the ‘Data-Driven Product of the Year’ at the National Technology Awards, and then, more recently, the ‘Best Use of Data’ award at the prestigious UK Business Tech Awards.
These accolades recognise OpenScore’s role in modernising how the social care sector communicates quality, rewarding daily excellence rather than historic performance. The awards coincide with a significant scale-up milestone for the platform, which has recently seen 5,000 providers integrate their data into its live interactive map, representing 31% of all UK care homes and marking a 100% increase in adoption since launch.
OpenScore was developed in 2025 as a direct response to the lengthening period some care homes were waiting for official inspections. By converting daily operational data from over 65 real-time indicators, such as food hygiene, safety checks and resident feedback, into a public-facing score, homes are now able to evidence their performance to care seekers in real time.
The system has also proven particularly vital for providers who may have had a ‘Requires Improvement’ rating dating back more than five years. OpenScore has allowed them to showcase current improvements and drive new enquiries based on their performance today.

Following the successful nationwide rollout, OpenScore is now evolving its ‘live signal’ capabilities. A new OpenScore interactive map is available free of charge to all UK care homes, and accredited mock inspections now also form part of the scoring algorithm.
Future updates scheduled for late 2026 include the integration of anonymised Digital Social Care Records and automated evaluations. These will provide families with atomic-level insight into daily care standards while offering providers a benchmarked view of their performance against national averages.
