Welcome to Roundhay, a charming, sheltered house located in Guildford. Built in 1983 and renovated in 2009, the house offers a peaceful and friendly atmosphere for residents. THere are eight bed-sitting rooms of varying sizes, including mobility standard properties, ensuring comfortable and accessible living spaces.
Roundhay is conveniently situated just a mile from Guildford town centre, with a nearby local bus service. The location provides easy access to a multitude of interesting sites, including Guildford Cathedral, Guildford Castle, and Watts Gallery, among others. Residents can explore these attractions and enjoy the wonderful cultural scene that Guildford has to offer.
At Roundhay, residents enjoy a truly independent lifestyle knowing they have the support of care professionals, if needed. The professional, caring house staff and volunteers are always available to assist residents, ensuring they feel at home and receive the care they require.
Roundhay has a relaxed atmosphere where residents are encouraged to invite visitors and family, with parking available at the front of the building.

Roundhay is served by several local doctor’s surgeries or family doctors are able to visit the house if necessary.
We continue caring for our residents for as long as possible. Those whose needs increase may be able to obtain domiciliary care within our houses. However, we do not (and legally cannot) provide personal care. When the time comes that we are no longer able to look after a resident we will assist them and their family with the decisions that must be made.

Roundhay features communal spaces where residents can socialise and enjoy each other's company. Our large, attractive garden provides a perfect outdoor setting for relaxation and entertainment.
The light airy lounge encourages residents to meet together to watch television and play cards or board games, and the large landscaped garden is a peaceful haven to relax with friends on a sunny afternoon, or take a walk around and discover new delights.

At Roundhay, we offer a range of activities and events, from coffee mornings to painting classes, there's something for everyone. We also organise monthly social activities, such as slide shows, car drives, visits to concerts, and day trips to the seaside, all coordinated by the Friends of Abbeyfield.
