Margaret Court

Margaret Court is probably the best development of Very Sheltered Housing for sale to be found anywhere in England. It is located about a mile from the town centre of Stratford upon Avon, along the Tiddington Road in the village of Tiddington, close to the shops. 

The first phase consists of 44 apartments, 42 of which have 2 bedrooms and two have one bedroom. Each apartment has a lounge and kitchen fitted to the highest specification, but the 2 bedroom apartments have both a spacious bathroom with WC, washbasin and bidet and a wet-room with a second WC and level access shower. The bathrooms in the one bedroom apartments have a separate bath and walk-in shower. In addition to the 44 apartments, 6 bungalows have been built as part of Margaret Court. Each bungalow will have 2 large bedrooms and a study.

All courts have staff who can help should you ever need to put together a care plan. They know the local specialists well, so can also help you to identify the most suitable, qualified people to care for you. You will need to pay for the services of your carers. Many courts are Care Quality Commission certified and a small number employ care staff.

At every court, a team of Duty Managers ensures that someone is on duty, on site, 24 hours a day. So if ever you need to pull the emergency call cord, you speak to someone in the building whom you know, who understands your needs, and can be with you in moments.

Margaret Court has a communal lounge that is the hub of many of its social activities. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served on a daily basis together with weekly events from whist to keep fit. The Court Manager will be able to provide a copy of the monthly social programme. There is a television and dvd player as well as a stereo providing Owners with the opportunity to enjoy film, concerts and musical evenings. In addition to the Lounge, there is a communal conservatory available for use by all Owners. The Court also features a Hobbies Room where Owners can take part in a number of activities including board games, card games, art and craft. The hobbies room is also used for meetings of either the Court management company or local clubs and societies of which Owners are members.

Margaret Court possesses its own communal gardens, shrubs and planters throughout the courtyards and grounds, that belong to all the Owners and are maintained by a gardener and/or Owners themselves. A consultative gardening committee will be set up if sufficient Owners are willing to contribute to its work.

Margaret Court has its own communal restaurant/dining room that provides a substantial meal every day, usually at lunchtime. Meals are not included in the service charge but are available at cost to all Owners. Meals will be taken on a tray to anyone who has requested one and is too unwell to leave their apartment. Guests are always welcome and any special dietary requirements are catered for. Evening meals and themed dinners are regularly held at the Court and light suppers can be arranged if requested.
