Meet The Manager

Ann Nolan is The Registered Manager at Barnston Court Care Home.

Ann is a registered Mental Health and General nurse (RMN and RGN) with 40 years of Nursing and care experience. Her main interest and passion is in managing successful care homes housing elderly and frail Residents. Ann is a very experienced nurse and often likes to also work alongside other nurses in the home to support their ongoing development and also keep up to date professionally and clinically. Ann is committed to providing a high–quality service. She is ultimately responsible for the effective and professional running of the care home, but will allocate time to discuss any aspect of our Residents care or any problems they may be experiencing. Ann is keen to work closely and in partnership with our Residents, their relatives and significant others to benefit the Residents in her care. She is passionate about developing her team to ensure they consistently provide high quality standards of care.

Barnston Court Care Home has 46 members of staff: 26 of whom are directly involved with providing care for our Residents. Between them they have over 100 years of care experience. All our Senior Carers hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and more than 80% of staff hold an NVQ Level 2 and others are working towards it.

Our cooks work on alternate days preparing and providing meals to our residents 3 times a day to meet each individual dietary need.

Barnston Court Care Home invests in a wide range of training for all our staff members, not only do we complete the mandatory training, we also complete additional training courses such as Catheter Care, Challenging Behaviour, Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool, Dysphasia, Common Health Problems, End of Life Care and much more. All our staff re-train every year in dementia to keep our knowledge up to date to ensure we provide the best care.

Our Building and Facilities

The home is a purpose-built three storey care home, located in the town of Moreton. Built in 1990, the home is situated in a quiet residential area and is close-by to local amenities.

Set over three floors, the home provides 20 single rooms and 5 double room. There is a large lounge and a separate dining room so our residents have the comfort to interact or watch television while they have their meals. The home also has a large double conservatory on the ground floor, which offers both ample seating, and a view of our garden area. There is also a separate smoking room for our residents. All areas are fitted with domestic furniture and lighting.

All of our rooms comprise a wash hand basin. All hot water taps have temperature control and are checked weekly to ensure the right temperature for the comfort and convenience of our Residents and all of the bedrooms have matching bedroom units.
