Meet The Manager

Matt-Dennis Andrews is Registered Manager at Agincourt Care Home.

“I love my job and am privileged to have such a good, kind and loving team here. We have very low staff turnover – one of our care workers has been here for 22 years! We’ve taken staff members from apprentice to senior care worker – I’m so proud of them all.

Working in a care home is not a job you can do half-heartedly. Every day is different here, and we all pull together and do the very best we can for our lovely residents. We’re like a big family.”

Matt-Dennis Andrews

At Agincourt we’ve created a relaxed and homely environment for all our residents. We have two comfortable, spacious lounges and a dining room. There’s plenty of space for group activities, or somewhere to find a quieter spot. We have a lovely enclosed and secure garden with a large lawn and flowerbeds. Our residents love to watch the wildlife in the garden – in and around our enclosed pond and our birdfeeders. Residents also get involved in gardening, planting up hanging baskets and filling the birdfeeders.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

Our home is made up of two floors. We have two lounges and a dining room, as well as space for our residents to take part in activities or to spend some time in peace and quiet. Residents have access to free WiFi throughout the home. We have a communal iPad which residents often use to stay in touch with family via Skype calls. We have an enclosed and secure communal garden, featuring a pond and flowerbeds. Our residents love to get involved and help look after the garden. Personal possessions help residents feel at home and provide extra stimulation and time for reminiscence. Activities Are So Important

Activities are so important to us at Agincare. All our care homes offer numerous activities, excursions and events to keep residents entertained, engaged and stimulated. Whether our residents like getting involved with group activities or prefer to find a quiet space for reading or independent entertainment, we cater to the needs of the individual at all times. Our activity coordinators are always keen to involve residents in the activity calendars and welcome suggestions for new activities or excursions. There is an activity for everyone with Agincare.

A recent voyage around Portland Harbour on the MV Freedom was a real success. Our residents also love visiting Portland Bill and the tea rooms at Moreton. We love music at Agincourt. We regularly welcome singers and keyboard players and love Magdalena’s music and drum sessions. Our residents regularly listen to their favourite tunes on our bluetooth headphones. We now have a playlist so diverse it’s worthy of a Radio 2 show! Our residents always create fantastic pictures and paintings with the Creative Minds group. There are also keep-fit and aromatherapy sessions.
