Our staff have been awarded dementia accreditation by Hertfordshire county council for providing dementia care over and above the county standard. Located in the beautiful National Trust estate of Ashridge, just a short drive away from the towns of Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead, this listed building is located in the idyllic area known as Little Gaddesden.

The house was built by the Earl of Bridgewater and parts of it date back to the 16th century. Home cooked meals are served every day in one of the intimate dining rooms and a number of different lounges are available for the residents to use.

Activities Are So Important

Each home offers a varied programme of weekly activities which is organised and overseen by our in house Engagement Co-ordinators. They cover a range of interests from sing-a-longs & arts and crafts to cooking and reminiscence sessions.

Great emphasis is placed on meaningful, daily life tasks which stimulate the mind and memory. The uniqueness of our residents life history and interests are central to our activities program. Through residents meetings and day to day interactions our residents influence what is on offer. Having said that, there are always a few old favourites that are never off the table … Bingo anyone!
