Meet The Manager

Emily Douglass is Home Manager at Guysfield Residential Home.

I lead my professional Care Team in delivering the highest level of care and support for our residents.

My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives, and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.

I feel that the Caring Homes philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.

Emily Douglass

At Guysfield Residential Home in Letchworth we provide residential and dementia care for up to 49 elderly people. You can find us in the beautiful conservation village of Willian, just a mile to the south of Letchworth Garden City, in Hertfordshire.

Originally a substantial country house built in 1884, Guysfield has been sensitively converted and extended to provide the very highest standard of residential care.

The original house retains a wealth of period features and the substantial mature gardens are a favourite amongst our residents and visitors alike, both during spells of warmer weather and when enjoying the views from our Victorian style conservatory.

We offer a full range of residential and dementia care at Guysfield – including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care, as well as long-term care.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
