Meet The Manager

Julie Slater is Home Manager at Fulford Care & Nursing Home.

I love every minute of my working day in Fulford, being a care home manager is a dream come true for me. We strive to ensure that Fulford is a place where our residents feel contented each and every day. We are a caring family and believe that the small things can make a difference.

Fulford is a real home-from-home in the vibrant West Sussex seaside town of Littlehampton, providing high-quality 24-hour affordable residential, nursing, palliative, respite and convalescence care.
We care for people with physical disabilities and limited mobility
We cater for both long- and short-term stays, and can also arrange regular respite care.
As well as caring for our residents we care about their families too.
Our door is always open for a chat, and our residents’ and families’ forum gives residents and relatives a way to support each other and get involved in making decisions about how the home is run.
All our residents are different, and we offer a range of activities and menu options so every person feels happy, stimulated and cared-for.
When someone arrives at Fulford, they immediately become part of the Agincare family. We care for them and help them maintain their independence, decision-making and control as much as they can.
Fulford is their home, and we support their changing physical and emotional needs so they can stay here as long as they want to.

Agincare is a family owned business. We provide national coverage with over 3500 staff employed in England which includes live in care, home care and residential care homes. Despite our success and growth we remain proud of our family values and strive always to do our very best for all of our residents and clients.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Description

We have 74 spacious bedrooms (all en-suite), with some able to accommodate couples – if there’s availability.

Each bedroom’s front door is a different colour and style, which makes it more recognisable. And we encourage our residents to personalise their rooms with their own photos and furniture.
Personal possessions help residents feel at home, and provide extra stimulation and time for reminiscence. They also give our staff an important understanding of a resident’s history and what’s important to them.
