Bryn Haven is a specialist care home in Brinnington, Stockport that offers high-quality dementia and End of Life Care. Set in its own enclosed gardens, the home can accommodate up to 42 residents. One of Bryn Haven’s stand-out features is a large conservatory which acts as a bright, airy seating area. Residents have plenty of things to keep them entertained, including a small music room where we hold weekly performances with local singers. If music isn’t their thing, they can enjoy playing board games, relaxing in the summerhouse or petting Bryn Haven’s feline mascot – Bryn the cat.

Bryn Haven is a SMILE (Simple Movements Improve Life Everyday) home. SMILE is a low impact, gentle exercising method developed with our partners, Life Leisure. Residents enjoy fun, regular sessions that help them to become stronger and more confident in their movement.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We welcome visitors to our Borough Care homes and ask that you follow the procedures below when planning a trip to visit your loved one. As always, the safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff remains our top priority. Covid has not gone away and some of our homes will find themselves experiencing outbreaks. An outbreak consists of two or more positive cases of COVID-19 during a 14-day period. Families will be informed if this happens and the home will close to visitors until the isolation period ends.

Your Visit to Borough Care

All visitors must take a Lateral Flow test and test negative before they can enter the home. You can take the test at the care home (this will require waiting outside the home for around 30 minutes).
Alternatively you can take a test at home before arriving, and bring it with you to show your negative status.
Visitors no longer need to wear a face mask except in certain circumstances.
Once hands are washed properly, adult visitors will be able to hold hands with their loved one.
Visitors to the home who are providing activities must always wear a face mask. Where this is not possible (such as entertainers) they will maintain social distance from residents.
If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you refrain from visiting the care home until you are better.
Please follow all instructions given by our team during your visit, to protect everyone.
Our Procedures

Each member of staff takes a Lateral Flow Test twice a week.
Residents are continuing to routinely test for COVID-19 every 28 days.
If a resident or member of staff feels unwell, even if they are not displaying COVID-19 symptoms, they will be tested immediately.
A Winter booster of the COVID-19 vaccine is available to people who live in care homes. Where applicable, residents are partaking in the Winter booster roll-out.
Thank You

We are delighted to welcome you into our homes, giving you more freedom to see your family members as they live life in colour at Borough Care. Once again, thank you for your continued support.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
