Meet The Manager

Sue Johnstone is General Manager at Sonning Gardens Care Home.

I have worked in Sonning Gardens since 2018, first as Deputy Manager and now as Home Manager. Previously I worked in the NHS as a District Nurse, Community Nurse Practice Educator, Independent Nurse Prescriber and Community Nurse Manager. I have a number o nursing qualifications and an MA in Health and Nursing Care.

My passion has always been caring for people in their own homes and supporting my team to be the best they are in their chosen careers. Working at Sonning Gardens is the perfect environment for me as our residents and staff are all in one beautiful home, set in lovely grounds.

Sue Johnstone

Welcome to Our Residential Care Home in Sonning

Here, at Sonning Gardens Care Home, we provide residential care, where individuals are supported with day-to-day activities, nursing care, for those who need more intensive support with longer-term conditions, specialist dementia care, based on our ReConnect approach, and short-term respite care. Couples or companions who wish to continue their care journey together are warmly welcomed to our home.

All of the support we offer is administered by our highly qualified care team. They’re passionate about making sure our residents receive the exact level of care required. We follow a care philosophy where care is tailored to the person receiving it. Our team creates personalised care plans for our residents, which are regularly reviewed throughout their time with us.

Our Sonning care home is the perfect place for elderly people who wish to live life to the fullest while receiving the care they need. Purpose-built, this luxurious care home sits on two and a half acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. We offer an array of homely accommodation options, including single rooms with en-suite facilities and shared rooms, designed for couples.

We’re proud to be able to offer our residents access to a host of first-class facilities, including a restaurant and a hair and beauty salon. We do everything we can to make our residents feel like they’re staying at a luxury hotel rather than a traditional care home. We’re sure you’ll agree that life at Sonning Gardens Care Home is a wonderful way to spend your retirement years.
