Mwaya Siwale is General Manager at Rokewood Court Care Home.

At Rokewood Court, one of my main objectives as the General Manager is to ensure the resident’s safety and wellbeing, and that their stay is as pleasant as possible.

I am responsible for the leadership and day-to-day running of the Home, working in partnership with the heads of department and the whole team. I have a key role in determining whether standards of practice are being maintained. I also have a duty of care to the staff, ensuring their wellbeing as well as supporting them to access training and development, always.

I have over 9 years, experience working in the Health and Social Care Sector at management level.

I joined Cinnamon Care Collection in 2015 as GM, working with a Company and team who are passionate about delivering quality care and making a difference. I am excited and privileged to be given the opportunity to commission Rokewood Court.
Rokewood Court will be a home where quality and compassion are stitched into the very fabric of the building, combining luxurious surroundings with a genuinely passionate team, offering the highest standards of care and a warm atmosphere where our service users can live comfortable and fulfilled lives.

I trained as a General Nurse in 1973 and has over 30 years of experience in the Senior care in a variety of management roles and prior to joining Cinnamon Care Collection was a Village Manager in Jersey managing a site with 2 homes and a ‘pub’.

I feel honored to be the Deputy Manager at Rokewood Court, assisting and supporting our General Manager to lead our dedicated team.
As the Deputy Manager I lead, mentor and support our wonderful care team, ensuring that the deliverance of care is second to none.
I enjoy getting to know our residents and their families and learning about our residents this is an important aspect in person centered care.

I monitor and engage in all aspects of care leading by example. I enjoy meeting with residents and their families to review care planning and linking to reputable services.

I enjoy working with our Activities Coordinator to assist with the provision of meaningful activities, events and trips in response to listening to our resident’s requests, likes and dislikes.

I am responsible supporting families and friends who are looking for a care home for their loved one and to ensure our stunning care home has a visual presence in and around the community.

I have worked in the care industry for 20 years. Working across the country to support care home managers to deliver excellent customer service to their customers and their community.

I moved to Kenley in the summer of this year with my partner . A Londoner born and bred and very proud of my roots. My family and friends are my world, they know my door is always open . With 4 grown up children I find my home life is never dull. A good work life balance is important to me with a passion to help people achieve their goals in life.

Here at Rokewood Court my role is to ensure the residents are safe and comfortable in their environment and the building is kept in tip-top condition.

I like spending time getting to know the residents and if time allows, I may be found holding an impromptu singsong in the lounge with my ukulele.

I am a qualified carpenter/joiner of 40 years’ experience, having run my own business for 10 of those years. I have worked in care since 2013 as a carer then an as activities assistant. I moved over to the maintenance side two years ago helping to commission a new home.
