Moira Taylor is Care Home Manager at Park Lodge Care Home.
From our wonderful teams who care for our residents like they were members of their own families through to our senior management team – we are all here for the same reason.
We are committed to ensuring our residents, who choose Sanctuary Care to support them in their later years, are able to live happy and contented lives full of wonderful experiences and memories.
This is achieved through our dedication to recruiting the right staff who are supported to build rewarding careers with us, investing in our care homes and working together with our residents and those closest to them to deliver care and support in a way which shows true kindness at the heart of our care.

Nestled in the idyllic and tranquil area of Kirkton of Skene, in Westhill our unique residential home offers specialist care and support for seven adults with complex needs, including learning disabilities and autism.
Our snoozelyn room is a place for therapeutic indulgence, with fibre-optics, a water feature, tactile activities and soothing light projections. It is a place for both sensory stimulation and relaxation.
Having recently been refurbished our residential home, which sits next to Sanctuary Care’s Pitcairn Lodge Nursing Home, feels immaculately fresh, bright and airy. Our residents love to make their rooms unique and personal to them.
A forever home where nursing care is provided round-the-clock, many of our residents have been with us since we opened in 2001. Park Lodge feels very much like an extended family, with a team completely dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents.
Several of our team have been here for many, many years, providing the continuity of care our residents need and giving loved one's extra peace of mind. Many of our residents cannot communicate verbally, so having such a well-established team, with combined care and nursing expertise is vital to know our residents’ individual care and communication needs.
The Importance Of Meal Times
Forget everything you think you might know about care home food (conjuring up images of school-like dinners and over-boiled vegetables!)
At Sanctuary Care we recognise meal times have always been a focus for residents in our homes which is why we invest in fantastic chefs and catering staff who can deliver delicious, nutritious menus and create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
The home has its own minibus which is specially adapted for wheelchairs, which we use to take our residents to places they love to visit in Westhill and the surrounding area of Aberdeenshire, including bowling at Garioch Indoor Bowling Centre and special screenings at Cineworld. We also organise holiday breaks for residents, visiting locations such as Edinburgh and the village of Crathie, near Balmoral Castle. Here we hire specially adapted cottages and accommodation where we can meet their needs.
Because many of our residents have complex learning disabilities and autism, activities which stimulate the senses are very important. Our residents love the regular Once Upon a Tune music therapy sessions we organise.
When not out and about our residents often like to relax and make the most of our peaceful idyllic setting in the heart woodland or relaxing in our sensory gardens.
