Meet The Manager

Rosie Goulding is Village Manager at Lakeside Care Home.

Hi, my name is Rosie and I am the village manager of Lakeside Village, which encompasses both Lakeside Care Home and Lakeside Manor Care Home. I have worked at Lakeside Village for many years and I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years.

I did my nurse training in Jersey and enjoyed a rich and diverse career on the island, which provided me with different opportunities in postgraduate nursing studies.

I am committed to being part of the island’s nursing workforce as a clinician and manager. I also encourage people with an interest in healthcare to follow their chosen career path. I am grateful to be part of a small, yet strong, island community. Jersey is beautiful and the friendliness of the islanders is boundless.

I have been working at Lakeside since 2012. I am a senior carer on the residential floor. I help settle new residents and staff into the home. The Importance Of Meal Times

Lakeside Care Home are proud of the delicious food we serve. We have 2 full time chefs and a pastry chef who are aware of each residents likes and dislikes. Our dining area at meal times is a social event for many residents, who come together and catch up whilst enjoying their meal.

The chef personally serves each meal and overseas meal service, to ensure a smooth delivery and that the residents choices are met. We also have a host/hostess who will deliver room service if this is the preferred choice. Our residents have a variety of options to choose from each meal, including what they would like to drink.

The host/hostess serve drinks and snacks throughout the day with a snack box available at night to ensure that the residents nutritional and dietary requirements are being met. To get a flavour of the menu we offer, please see the example menus below.

Dietary requirements:

For residents that have difficulties in swallowing we modify the menu of the day so that is it a soft, palatable dish.  To support our chefs in producing these dishes, our hospitality and Chef Academy organises theory and practical workshops.  Working in partnership with Nutricia, our practical workshops involve all chefs and deputy managers learning about dysphagia and producing these modified menus. The chefs work with the chef trainer to prepare fork mashable and thick puree meals to the correct consistency, taste and presentation.  The deputy managers can then ensure all modified menus served are presented correctly for our residents.

We Serve Food At
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Dietary Options
Vegetarian, Vegan, Pureed, Diabetic.

Activities Are So Important

Our activities staff each bring their own strengths to the table here at Lakeside, which results in a varied list of social events being offered to residents. We have regular outings to restaurants for lunches, afternoon tea & cakes, and through the summer months, we have beach trips with ice cream and picnics, which residents request regularly. On a weekly basis, there is a variety of sports, musical entertainment, hairdressing, one-to-one sessions, exercise programmes, quizzes and PAT dogs available to those we support. On Monday morning each resident receives an activities programme for the week's events and can opt in and out of what they want.
