Meet The Manager

Dacre Lassauniere is Home Manager at Horsell Lodge.

As Home Manager of Horsell Lodge I lead a professional team in providing the highest standards of care for up to 70 residents with varying needs.

I bring over 10 years of experience as a Care Home Manager. I have a strong professional and business background which blend with my care expertise to give me a breadth of knowledge and understanding on how to provide safe, comfortable care at the highest standard.

I’m at my best when I’m caring for other people and I believe relationships are incredibly important, so I am personally involved in all of our residents’ everyday lives.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is improving lives by supporting residents and their families. Every resident we care for has a history and a story to tell and learning about their lives is a wonderful privilege.

Supporting and developing the team around me is also very important to me, as this enhances our residents’ lives and drives outstanding care.

    Description

Residents have the option to personalise our luxury bedrooms. We have both single rooms and interconnecting companion rooms available.

Safety and comfort are our foremost concern, so all our rooms are fitted with a nurse call system and acoustic monitoring for your peace of mind. As well as improving quality of sleep, acoustic monitoring can help to reduce the risk of falls. During your visit to Horsell Lodge ask a member of our team how acoustic monitoring can benefit you.

For those living with memory loss or dementia, design features include dementia-friendly elements such as interior decoration, light levels, floor coverings and signage which help to promote a sense of calm and wellbeing, while enabling people living with dementia to find their way around independently and safely.

This is our first home to include the new ‘Stable Door’ design feature which can benefit residents in four ways:

    • Choice – the doors give residents a degree of choice over their environment. They can have the security of a closed door or flexibility to achieve a middle ground with half open.
    • Recognition – with a larger than standard memory box and illumination on approach, it aids residents living with dementia to recognise their room.
    • Personal Space – with the option to close the lower leaf it gives residents a higher degree of control over their personal space, while still being able to engage with the people around them.
    • Security – the door is only accessible by the resident or a member of the care team, giving comfort to both residents and families.

Care and support are tailored around your needs and a private and confidential assessment is arranged with the Home Manager so you can relax knowing you’ll have care and support to suit your specific needs from the moment you move in.

Our team go above and beyond to ensure that all residents’ individual needs are met; whether that’s personalising the interior of your room with some of your favourite things or getting to know you, your life, all about your favourite hobbies, preferences, foods and so on.

As well as ongoing training in their field, every team member receives our unique ‘Living in My World’ dementia training which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.

    The Importance Of Meal Times
