Meet The Manager

Marie Wood is Home Director at Foxhunters Care Community.

I’ve been in the care industry since leaving school. All I’ve ever done is care. I’ve worked in every role and I believe that gives me the ability to understand things from everyone’s perspective. It is my dream to manage a care home and I’m thrilled to be given this role at Foxhunters which is so fantastically thought through. It’s such a pleasure working with an establishment like Dormy Care Communities which shares my passion for providing excellent care for individuals. Abergavenny is a stunning town.

Everyone has been so welcoming and I’m greatly encouraged by the work that’s been done locally, before we officially open to quickly establish Foxhunters as a community home within the community. As Home Director my door is always open to support the ladies and gentlemen who live with us as well their family members.

What truly makes our homes are the wonderful, highly trained staff we employ.

Our Carers
Head Chef

I have worked for some very successful restaurants in London, culminating 15 years of industry experience. This has afforded me some amazing opportunities, including the service of private dinners within Windsor Castle and the opportunity to work with one of my industry role models, Angela Hartnett. It is a privilege and an honour to have worked alongside some of the industry leaders, but it is even more of an honour and a privilege to have to opportunity to use this experience to bring something special to the Care Industry.

Dormy Care Communities has created an opportunity for me to exercise and develop my passion, not just for food, but also for service, allowing me to try to create a truly unique and special dining experience within our Care Community. It is our aim to make the experience of food special for everyone within our community.

Head Housekeeper

I have worked as head house keeper for 23 years in the care and hotel industry and enjoy meeting new people and know that the service that housekeeping provide will be the best in standards of cleanliness and comfort. Knowing that our guests are happy and content with their stay.

When I saw the position at foxhunters I knew this was for me. I am privileged to be part of the team and am looking forward to watching the Home grow and to meeting our new family.

Home Administrator

I have worked in the care sector for the last ten years and have a huge amount of experience to bring with me. I will be supporting our Home Director Marie with the recruitment of staff and will be responsible for all of the administrative areas within a busy care home!

I am delighted to join the Foxhunters team and am very excited to be sharing the same passion and beliefs that the Dormy Care ethos stands for. I have lived all my life in the local area and am very proud knowing I will be part of such a beautiful home with the most outstanding facilities. This home is exactly what Llanfoist needs and I cannot wait to see the home grow and to welcome people into their new home".

Assistant Administrator

I have worked in the care industry for several years and am really looking forward to the journey I have now started with Foxhunters Care Community. It's such a privilege to be part of the team from so early on and to watch how things grow and develop. I can’t wait to start meeting new people and welcoming them into our family."

I have recently become a Dementia Champion and am looking forward to working with local groups in the Community to help with our Dementia Friendly accreditation.

Maintenance Manager

I have lived in this beautiful part of South Wales for all my life and have been working in a maintenance role within the care sector for the past nine years. I have gained a huge amount of experience, skills and knowledge needed to come on board in my new role.

I am thrilled to be part of the Foxhunters team and as Maintenance Manager my aim is to deliver excellent high standards and support our residents as well as the home.

The Importance Of Meal Times
