Meet The Manager

Heidi Crompton is Senior General Manager at Bradshaw Manor Care Home.

Welcome to Bradshaw Manor's website; my name is Heidi and I am the Senior General Manager here.

I qualified as an RGN in 1990 and joined Bradshaw Manor as a part time staff nurse in 1992, and over the years, I worked through promotion to be the senior general manager. During this time, I have had the opportunity to complete my Registered Managers Awards and, as I have a love of health & safety, I have been able to gain 4 NEBOSH qualifications, which have helped with the day-to-day running of the home.

I am fortunate to have spent 27 years in a lovely home beside the sea front with beautiful view of the sea. I have had the privilege of working alongside a fabulous team within the home and networking with external professionals to maintain the high standards of care we deliver to those we support.

Bradshaw Manor is a purpose-built home set in landscaped gardens adjacent to the main promenade in Rhyl. We provide 24-hour nursing care and support to older people. Bradshaw Manor also provides expert care for people living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. The main town is within easy walking distance of the home and enjoys excellent public transport links with a bus stop right on our doorstep.

Bradshaw Manor is surrounded by a wealth of local attractions including the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, the events arena and a lovely bowling green. The home enjoys the best of both worlds in terms of its location with Chester just 30 minutes drive away via the A55, and the beautiful Welsh country side and the landscapes of the Conway Valley and Llandudno quite literally on our doorstep.

The Importance Of Meal Times

Our experienced chefs at Bradshaw Manor ensure that each person we care for meets their nutritional and dietary requirements, whilst also taking into account our residents likes, dislikes and dietary requirements to create menus that appeal to everyone. Our chefs provides nutritious menus with a variety of choices to temp their taste bud, in addition to the light snacks, smoothies, and home-made cakes that are available throughout the day and night to those who just can't get enough of our food! Our many themed days provide an opportunity to try an taste new dishes both local and from around the world.

For residents that have difficulties in swallowing we modify the menu of the day so that is it a soft, palatable dish.  To support our chefs in producing these dishes, our hospitality and Chef Academy organises theory and practical workshops.  Working in partnership with Nutricia, our practical workshops involve all chefs and deputy managers learning about dysphagia and producing these modified menus. The chefs work with the chef trainer to prepare fork mashable and thick puree meals to the correct consistency, taste and presentation.  The deputy managers can then ensure all modified menus served are presented correctly for our residents.
