Meet The Manager

Gemma Lindley is Home Manager at Dunniwood Lodge.

Before joining Dunniwood Lodge, I managed large dual nursing & residential care settings, as well as residential services, across Derby, South Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire.

At Dunniwood we make meaningful new memories and believe each individual is at the heart of what we do. I love being part of and leading the team at Dunniwood.

I'm qualified in care and have an NVQ level 5 Diploma award in Management of Residential and Nursing Care, NVQ’s in healthcare and team leadership, and I’m also trained in Dementia and Cognitive Therapy and a Dignity Champion.

“At Dunniwood we believe in a person-centred care approach, moulding the care around the individual. The people who live at Dunniwood are unique and are very much involved in the care they receive. We offer a home from home experience, with a lovely layout that allows people to socialise and also have privacy when they need it.”

Caring to me is about doing everything we can to make life a little easier, making people happy, and making sure they receive the highest quality of care. Every day we support family and friendship and that’s what I’m proud of."

The Importance Of Meal Times

Our kitchens offer delicious and nutritious meals and menus that cater to dietary requirements, prepared daily by our on-site chef. We create varied menus using fresh and seasonal ingredients. We regularly refresh our menus in consultation with the people living in our home, so that we are providing meals that are loved by everyone.

Outside of breakfast, lunch, and an evening meal each day, we also offer food from our 24 hour snack menu. This includes sandwiches, toasted tea cakes, crumpets, toast, biscuits, and cakes. We also have drinks available around the clock in the lounge with jugs of juices and water and a kitchenette that provides hot drinks.

Friends and family can also join us for meals for a small extra charge that is added towards our resident’s fund.

Activities Are So Important

We believe in creating a community and making sure every day offers different things to do. Our Activity Coordinators run a great range of social and relaxing activities from art and crafts, bingo, pamper sessions, to quizzes and games that consider people's needs and interests, all to create meaningful experiences that enrich lives.

We run feature events within the homes with entertainers and musicians for our people to sit back and enjoy. We also run day trips for our people to enjoy the sights and sounds of the local area including the local Wildlife Park and further afield.

We hope our residents will take full advantage of these fun experiences and if they would like to maintain a hobby or interest, we are more than happy to accommodate.
