Carlton Dene is a welcoming home situated within walking distance of Paddington Recreation Ground, Westminster’s largest park.
Our caring team is there to support our residents to live life to the full and enjoy the things they like to do in the comfort of homely surroundings.
Next door to the impressive St Augustine’s Church, the home is within close proximity of Kilburn Park tube station and is near bus routes to destinations such as Chelsea and Hammersmith.
The care home has been designed with welcoming lounge and dining rooms and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential and dementia care, as well as respite care.

Our Building and Facilities |
---|
Our 42 bedrooms have television points and we encourage our residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture. We have several lounge and dining rooms, which are all areas for our residents to use as they wish, whether they enjoy taking part in activities, catching up with friendly faces or simply reading a good book. The home also has two activity rooms where our residents enjoy a wide range of stimulating and varied activities. The large landscaped garden and smaller courtyard garden are pleasant places to relax in the warmer weather or enjoy a spot of light gardening. There is also a hairdressing room where our residents can enjoy being pampered with regular visits from our mobile hairdresser. |

Description |

We pride ourselves on caring for our residents as though they were members of our own family. With this in mind our residential care homes are designed with all the usual comforts you would expect from home, creating a relaxing atmosphere with features such as cosy fireplaces and personalised bedrooms. In partnership with our residents and their loved ones we create a bespoke care plan to build a picture of not only their health and wellbeing needs, but their emotional needs and who they are as an individual. We tailor care and support to residents’ personal needs, so whether it’s something as simple as knowing they like a little extra sugar in their tea, to helping someone to rekindle a much-loved past time; we are there to help them to live life to the full. |
The Importance Of Meal Times |
---|
At Sanctuary Care we recognise meal times have always been a focus for residents in our homes which is why we invest in fantastic chefs and catering staff who can deliver delicious, nutritious menus and create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents. Some of our residents enjoy getting involved in the preparation and serving of food! You can read more about this in our case studies. Cooked or continental? Sandwiches or hot food? The choice is yours with residents being involved in creating seasonal nutritional menus from old favourites to trying something new…there’s also always freshly baked cakes to enjoy for afternoon tea. Midnight snack? No problem, refreshments are available to residents throughout the day and evening if they get a little peckish. We encourage meal-times where residents can eat together and socialise in a relaxing environment but understand that residents may wish to enjoy food when they and where choose to have it. Our trained staff understand the importance of eating well and staying hydrated and supporting residents living with dementia to enjoy food in their environment – making food more visible through coloured crockery and more appealing whether it's pureed, finger foods or moulded. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things. This could be anything from reminiscence activities, exercise sessions, arts and crafts and baking, to classes with visiting dancers and musicians. The home also hosts community events throughout the year where we invite people to come along to join us, for example summer fetes and Christmas fayres. |
