Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Since the early stages of the pandemic, our teams have been working to a pandemic plan which is updated regularly to reflect any changes to either UK or Scottish government guidance. This plan includes a range of measures aimed at both reducing the likelihood of new Covid-19 infections and reducing the spread of infections where they occur.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

We are offering visits in our Covid-safe visiting suites.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Deputy Manager

I feel incredibly privileged to be the Deputy Manager at Ladybrook Manor and work alongside our dedicated and committed team. I have been working in the care sector from the age of 18 when I started my nurse training at Manchester Royal Infirmary. I spent 20 years working for the NHS in a variety of positions, ultimately being promoted to a Clinical Support Sister at MRI. More recently, over the last 10 years, I have work for a number of Care Home Providers ultimately as suite manager or Deputy Manager.

I have lived in Stockport for the majority of my life. I am very happily married, have four children, two stepchildren and a wonderful little grandson. I have been working at Ladybrook Manor for a while now and can honestly say, although at times my role can be quite demanding; I love ethos, my job, the people I work with and most of all the wonderful residents.

John Harrison
Director of Community Relations

I am the first point of contact for individuals and their families enquiring about their care options. I am proud to invite people to a tour of our community and make sure they leave with all the relevant information, having seen and experienced Ladybrook Manor for themselves. The most rewarding part of my role is supporting families and individuals, and being able to guide and counsel them during what can be a very emotional journey.

I feel very privileged and honoured to be part of this experience and to help in the process of making the decision to join our community. Seeing new residents flourish and make new friends is the most rewarding element of my role.

Activities and Volunteers Co-ordinator

I have been here since January 2011, having started as an Activities Assistant. In 2016 I felt it was time to step up in an exciting new role as the new Activities and Volunteer Co-ordinator, and enjoy every moment of my day here at Ladybrook Manor.  My aim is to fulfil each resident's day by planning and delivering six activities each day with the activities team for the residents to show off their various talents, hobbies and knowledge, or bringing new experiences to our community.

We also arrange special events, entertainment and trips out each week and I am passionate about supporting older people to live life to the full, whether it be hobbies and interests from the past or by bringing new experiences to them. It is so very rewarding to see residents smiling and laughing each day.

Reminiscence Co-ordinator

I  joined the community in November 2018. I have worked in the care industry for 10 years with my last role being a dementia specialist trainer, giving care team and management the knowledge and understanding to provide true resident focussed care. I now feel honoured to be a part of such an amazing team who demonstrate love, compassion and kindness to all the residents in the community.

I came to Ladybrook Manor as their values inspire a great team ethos and they all go the extra mile to make a difference each and every day. I am passionate about person-centred care for residents living with dementia, and my goal is to make each day meaningful and to enhance the quality of life for everyone. I look forward to supporting residents and their families through their own unique journeys with dementia.
