Meet The Manager

Wojciech Kuczkowski is General Manager at Seccombe Court.

I’ve been a General Manager for over ten years in other care homes. I worked my way up from care roles into management. I originally trained in management and marketing in my native Poland.

I was very positive about working for Care UK because it has a great reputation, and puts residents at the heart of everything it does. It's values of Caring, Passionate and Teamwork closely echo my own.

Seeing residents enjoying life here at Seccombe Court is what makes everything worthwhile. Knowing I’m making a positive impact on their lives is what motivates me. I’m very proud of the way the team delivers exceptional care to all residents and their loved ones. Seeing that every day makes Seccombe Court an amazing place to work.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Since the early stages of the pandemic, our teams have been working to a pandemic plan which is updated regularly to reflect any changes to either UK or Scottish government guidance. This plan includes a range of measures aimed at both reducing the likelihood of new Covid-19 infections and reducing the spread of infections where they occur.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Wireless Internet access (WiFi)

Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms.

Telephone for external calling

Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms.

Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.

With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.

Monika Kowalczyk
Monika Kowalczyk
Deputy Manager

I started out as a Care Assistant and worked my way up to my current role. I’ve learnt so much having done different care roles and it means I understand what the team experience day-to-day. I’ve been privileged to have worked at Seccombe Court since it opened in 2017.

It’s the little moments that count when you’re supporting older people, so I do everything I can to ensure residents enjoy rewarding experiences and interactions. I’m passionate about the job I do, and the job all the team does here at Seccombe Court, and I’m committed to supporting them to deliver their best work every day. Every person who works here understands the difference they make to people’s lives, and they make it happen.

Home Admissions Advisor

I have a mix of care and sales experience, so when I saw this role, I thought it suited my skills well. I was also keen to work for Care UK as the organisation is a well-established and award-winning provider. Compassion, openness and a determination to make the moving in process as smooth as possible are all vital in this role.

The team at Seccombe Court is caring and fun, which makes working here a joy. It’s also incredibly satisfying to see residents thriving in our community as a result of the love and care they receive. Knowing I’ve contributed to their quality of life gives me a great sense of achievement.

Home Administrator

I’m an experienced care home administrator – I love the variety that I get in this job, and the fact that I’m doing something worthwhile. I’m new to Seccombe Court but have worked in care homes for most of my career so far.

In this role, it’s important to have compassion, empathy, good listening skills and a calm approach. When families first come to the home looking for care, understandably their emotions can be high. I aim to make the process of finding and organising care as easy and as comfortable as possible for them. Seeing the residents – especially new residents – happy and enjoying each day here is what it’s all about for me.

Maria Covaci
Maria Covaci
Clinical Nurse Manager

I’m a Registered General Nurse and I joined the Seccombe Court team in 2019. We’re like one big family here in our Adderbury care home. There’s a strong team, we really help and support teach other and we work as part of an excellent multidisciplinary team to ensure residents receive the best care at all times. The residents are wonderful and we have strong relationships with their loved ones too.

I feel it’s a huge privilege to care for older people and to ensure they are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. All of my team is passionate about delivering the best care to residents, and we thrive on achieving positive outcomes for them. Whenever I’m not here I know I can trust the team to keep doing their best work.

Hospitality Manager

Having worked here as Head Chef I recently took on the role as Hospitality Manager. Having managed the kitchen team during my time here, I now oversee and support our kitchen and housekeeping team across the home. I have worked in the catering industry for 32 years, with 20 of those years spent working within the care sector. I also carry years of management experience alongside cooking, meaning I can bring the very best out of my team. This is a very friendlyand caring home, and I feel privileged and proud to be part of the team.

Francesca Crooks
Francesca Crooks
Receptionist

My background is in retail and customer service – I enjoy helping people and learning more about their stories. When I was looking for a new challenge in 2020 I thought I’d like to experience working in a care home, so here I am!

The huge difference when you work in a care home is that you can build relationships with the residents as well as with colleagues. One of my favourite parts of the day is when I can catch up with the residents and find out what they’ve been doing and how they’re feeling. When we have live entertainment happening, it’s wonderful to see everyone having fun, and enjoying having a sing and a dance.

Maintenance

As Maintenance Manager my role is to deal with any maintenance issues that may arise. I have been in the home since we first opened our doors and it is a pleasure to be able to work in such a lovely home with caring, friendly staff. I have worked as a Maintenance Manager for the last five years in another care home but prior to this I worked in the printing industry.
