Meet The Manager

Lindy James is Home Manager at Westwood House.

Lindy James began her career as a care assistant and has worked up to home manager, achieving qualifications in leadership and management along the way.

She says: “I have worked in Health and Social Care for more years than I care to mention. I have experience of managing homes for people who have learning disabilities, but my passion lies within caring for the elderly living with dementia as they have so much to give. They enrich my life, and I learn something new each day. I love the company ethos and teamwork at Your Health. I love my job and cannot imagine doing anything else. The support is fantastic, and nothing is too much trouble. Our home feels like a big family and the residents are at the very heart of everything we do. We do all we can to ensure they have the very best quality of life.”

Lindy James

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are doing everything we can to keep people safe.  We have robust procedures in place to ensure we are following the latest government guidance.  We have always had excellent stock levels of mask and other PPE to ensure we are never without.  We were committed to only allowing admissions following a clear covid 19 test, and this has been our stance since the start of the pandemic on 12th March 2020.  We ask all new admissions to isolate in their rooms initially to be extra sure that they do not have the virus or any symptoms of it.  We train all staff in infection control and support them practically in following the new procedures in their roles.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
