Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

The health and safety of our residents is our priority. We have safety measures in place which are regularly reviewed in line with public health authorities and regulators to ensure our schemes offer a safe place to live. We work to government guidance to create a safe environment, this includes having good supplies of PPE, regular staff and customer testing and robust infection control measures.

We also place significant importance on keeping residents connected with loved ones and their community. At the end of 2020, we were awarded the title of highly commended for one of our Caring in Covid stories included in a new ebook produced by the leading membership association for not-for-profit social care providers.

Our staff all wear required PPE and take 2 LFD tests and one PCR test once a week. Residents are tested monthly with LFD and PCR more so if we have a positive case (LFD every day for staff once a week for residents). All staff are infection controlled trained. We have a visitor pod and visitors must wear PPE and take LFD test before visiting.

Business Support Officer

My job is everything facilities! I look after our buildings, repairs, maintenance, health and safety and compliance as well as the accounts for customers. Anything that is not related to the care of customers normally comes my way, so the facilities team can complete the task.

It feels great to know I am making a difference to our customer’s lives. It is a privilege to be able to look after someone in their home and spend time getting to know about who they are and the lives they have lead. Keeping our customers safe and knowing that the little things we do around the scheme to mend and improve makes such a big difference.

Activities Coordinator

My role as Activity Coordinator is to plan and provide activities and engagement for the residents, working along side families and making links within the community and outside agencies.

I love making a difference, however small it may be - it could mean the world to our residents.

I want the residents to continue to live there life as independently as they can with support given to them to access activitie and experiences that they enjoy and putting a smile on there faces.

I love my job because I have an amazing team that is very supportive to each other. We have lovely residents that I love to spend time with as much as I can.

Through auditing and monitoring I ensure the care needs of the customers are being met. I have regular feedback from family members thanking us for all we do and recently received a lovely card from a respite customer that returned home.
