Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

To keep all residents and staff safe during these pandemic covid-19 times (and all other times) we have a very robust Infection Control Policy along side our Health and Safety policies. Heaton House has recently had the CQC complete an on-site IPC inspection on 25th February 2021, this report is available on the CQC website. We have remained clear of COVID-19 since March 2020 due to the dedication of all our carers and ancillary staff (we never use any agency staff)

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

There are 3 safe visiting spaces for our Heaton House residents and visitors, either inside with or without a large Perspex screen, and headphones are also available for the hard of hear residents. And a summer house and gazebo outside. This gives plenty of ‘visiting slots’ for our residents who are now allowed 5 allocated visitors to come to visit (only after a negative LFD test has been completed before each visit) Heaton House always follows the government guidelines for Care Home visiting and updates as required. We also encourage regular zoom meetings with relatives and friends (booked ahead)

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
