Meet The Manager

Melanie Marshall is Registered Manager at Hampden House.

My name is Melanie Marshall and I am proud to be the Manager of Hampden House Care Home which is located in the beautiful Spa Town of Harrogate.

I am a Registered Nurse with a Diploma in Higher Education and a B.Sc.(hons) in Health and Social Care. My care background started in 1980 as a Volunteer, progressing to Care Assistant, Student Nurse, Staff Nurse and then Ward Manager within the NHS. I transferred to the private sector in 2003 and remain passionate concerning my chosen career, endeavouring to ensure that residents who have made the lifestyle choice of 24 hour residential and/or nursing support, also have the opportunity to live life to the full, after all, it is not simply the amount of years in your life that count, but the quality of the life in those years.

Ubiquitous to any role within the care sector is compassion, combined with the ability to put others before yourself while being respectful to fellow colleagues and those they are caring for.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence through third party validation the infection control measures they are taking to keep you and your loved ones safe. With their help we will present whatever information is available to you and identify the provider with a S.A.F.E. badge (Symptom Assessment for Everyone). This is a work in progress, in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
