Meet The Manager

Christine Hutchinson is Home Manager at Edward Moore House.

Christine has worked for the organisation for over 18 years, at a number of our homes working her way up from care assistant, before taking up her current role as general manager here at Edward Moore House, and Dene Holm our residential care home in Northfleet.

Christine Hutchinson

Conveniently located a short distance from the town centre, Edward Moore House is a bright and welcoming home, providing care for older people within a homely setting.

Visitors always comment on the cheerful environment within our home, chiefly down to the family like relationship between our committed staff and residents. But our team has also invested a great deal of energy and creativity into creating an inspiring home for the residents. Installing focal interest points and scenes in otherwise ordinary areas, gives residents something to see and touch when strolling in the corridors.

Bright and airy dining rooms provide a welcoming space for residents to socialise and dine together, whilst the cosy seating areas are great for afternoon games or catching up on TV. Our spacious garden and beach hut are perfect for residents and guests wanting to make the most of the summer months.

We are a pet friendly home so you may find our two cats wandering the corridors, providing excellent companionship for our residents and promoting a calm environment. To find out more about Edward Moore House, give us a call or pop in for a cup of tea, we’d be delighted to show you around.

Description

Edward Moore House has two floors with capacity for 18 residents on the ground floor and 18 on the first floor. Each floor is divided into two wings with a maximum of 9 rooms in each.

Whilst the actual level of personal care each resident receives will depend on their individual needs, our usual staffing levels on each floor assuming that each is fully occupied, during the day are: one experienced senior care staff who has achieved, or are working towards, their level 3 award in Health and Social Care and seven care assistants, either who have achieved their level 2 in Health and Social Care or who have, or are working to achieve, a Care Certificate. During the night, there are four care assistants working on each shift, plus one lead night care assistant working on each shift.

The home also has a dedicated social activities facilitator who organises internal and external activities for our residents to enjoy. In addition, we have a home manager and a deputy manager who, together with the home administrator, comprise the home’s management team.
